CREATIVE PROCESS

Shayana by Ava is my independent AI-assisted music project, created under strong human creative direction.

Every song begins with an idea.

Sometimes it starts with a sentence, a memory, a question, an image or a story I cannot let go of. From there, I begin shaping the emotional direction of the track: the atmosphere, the rhythm, the vocal character, the tension, the structure and the way the story should move through sound.

I write and shape the lyrics and the central concept of each song. I then develop the musical direction through detailed creative guidance, experimentation and repeated generation using generative AI tools.

AI is part of my production process, but it does not make the artistic decisions for me.

I may create many versions before a song finds its final form. I listen closely to the voice, tempo, instrumentation, arrangement, dynamics, transitions and emotional impact of each version, and I keep refining the direction until the music feels true to the story.

Some ideas fail completely. Some versions contain only a few seconds that feel right. And sometimes a generation captures exactly the combination of voice, melody, rhythm and emotion I was looking for.

I choose the final version because it serves the story.

The role of generative AI

I use generative AI tools to help create the performed musical material, including vocals and instrumentation.

I see these tools as part of the creative production process, not as autonomous authors.

My process is iterative. A finished Shayana by Ava track may emerge only after many interpretations, failed directions, rewritten instructions and careful comparisons between versions.

The technology can generate sound.

I decide what that sound should mean.

Why I work this way

Shayana by Ava grew from my desire to turn written ideas and emotional stories into music.

Generative technology gave me access to musical possibilities that would otherwise require singers, instrumentalists, studios and production teams.

I do not use that possibility to remove human creativity from the process.

I use it to extend what I am able to create.

I am not trying to imitate a traditional recording process, and I have no reason to hide the fact that AI is involved. I am interested in what becomes possible when human storytelling, artistic direction and new creative technology meet.

The principle behind the music

The story comes first.

Technology may change.

Genres may change.

Voices, rhythms and instruments may change from one song to another.

But every Shayana by Ava track begins with the same question:

What does this story need in order to become music?
